Company values Our clients are the foundation of our business. Our only true asset is our ability to service our clients. In all of our dealings, we should strive to continually serve their best interests. By virtue of being counselors, we must place our clients’ interests ahead of our own. We owe clients broad duties of utmost due care, good faith, and loyalty.
Value Comprehensive financial planning makes a real difference, both qualitatively and quantitatively, in clients' lives. We believe that our financial planning process adds to the bottom line by helping clients control spending, increase savings, and reduce taxes. Integrity Clients place their trust and confidence in us, and we promise to live up to that through personal and professional integrity, honesty and candor. Objectivity We approach client financial needs and investment opportunities with objectivity, placing clients’ best interests first. Confidentiality Our clients trust us with valuable information of a highly personal nature. We strive always to maintain the confidentiality of that information. We do not discuss information, or client names, with anyone outside the office. Investment strategy We are diversified asset class managers. Our goal is preservation of capital first, with a striving for returns secondary. Diversified portfolios sometimes underperform standard market benchmarks and occasionally experience negative return periods. |
What can I expect of working with a planner? I haven't done this before.
A good first step is to interview your potential planner by phone - cost effective and easy on your time. If it feels like a potentially good fit for you, then plan to get together in person for an exploratory meeting. Our exploratory meetings are no-charge no-pressure. There should be a good fit between client and planner. Both should look forward to a rewarding business relationship. If you decide to move forward with us, we'll send a written agreement with costs set out in it. What should you look for in a financial planner? We've got a terrific "Kicking the Tires..." brochure that we'd be happy to send to you. Just drop us an email. What do you charge? The average for planning projects ranges from $1,000 to $5,000 - a broad range. The actual number depends on the scope and complexity of the engagement. Individual issue consultations - e.g. start-up business consultations or tax preparation - will usually be less. What do you love about your job? When a client says "This was fantastic. We've never felt so sure about our financial future. Where do we sign for that retainer arrangement?" We're not wealthy people... FFA does not have minimum income or net worth requirements. Claudia often works with middle and upper middle income people. We have substantial assets and want more sophisticated financial planning. Claudia works with higher net worth individuals who want professional advice and/or a second opinion. Investment planning and management is through fee-only compensation. Claudia does not sell any products. Our clients provide our only compensation. |
